The Duporth Tavern is the perfect destination to drink, dine and celebrate with friends in a great coastal atmosphere. Duporth is centrally located in the heart of Maroochydore and offers something for everyone. This locally owned and operated venue has been newly renovated and now boasts a modern Bistro, Private Function Room, TAB and Gaming Room. Built in 1911, the tavern is unique and modern but maintains the aura of its traditional charm.
With a great menu and a wide range of local wines and spirits to try, you’ll not find a better place to pass the time. The Duporth Tavern has a large main bar on the main floor, which flows out into a lounge area with a la carte dining and out into the back beer garden. We then have a private function room which has its own bar and bathroom facilities along with a deck facing Ocean Street and into the CBS of Maroochydore. We offer a great range of beers, wines, soft drinks and a large variety of spirits.
Originally opened in November 1911, then known as the Club Hotel, it was the first hotel in Maroochydore. Built for George Bury by Franz Nyman and was a replica of the Royal George Hotel in Nambour. It used to offer a ferry service for patrons who would travel from the hinterland along the Maroochy River. Over the years various improvements were made to the hotel; in October 1922 electric lighting was installed and in December 1937 it became the first brick building in Maroochydore, when a brick frontage was added. The bar and management’s private residence faced the main street, while the hotel proper was on the bank of the Maroochy River. In June 1962 Zebra Motor Inns Pty Ltd began work on constructing a two storey brick hotel-motel to replace the Club Hotel. Also known locally as the Maroochy Hotel. The Duporth Tavern is unique and modern but maintains the aura of its traditional charm.
